What is Second?

Second is an AI platform focused on automating codebase migrations, upgrades, and maintenance for software engineering teams. The platform uses AI to understand developer intent and automate routine tasks, enabling teams to concentrate on strategic work.

The company was founded by Eric Rowell, who leads as CEO, alongside founding AI engineers Mason Pierce and M Sarosh Khan. Second participated in Y Combinator.

2. Generate a plan: choose a project template and let AI planning agents create a STEP plan in YAML, which you can review and modify.
3. Run the job: AI execution agents run it in a secure cloud environment.
4. Get your pull request: receive a fully functional branch ready for review; create a pull request and merge when ready.
