What is Project IDX?

Project IDX is a web-based workspace for full-stack application development, featuring generative AI to speed up the development process. It is built on Google Cloud for security and scalability.

What is Project IDX used for?

Project IDX supports the full development workflow:

• Web-based workspace: Access your development environment from any location or machine, making team collaboration easier.
• AI-assisted coding: Generative AI provides code generation, completion, translation between languages, and explanations of code.
• Framework and language support: Works with popular frameworks and languages including Angular, Next.js, React, Svelte, and Flutter, with plans to add Python and Go.
• Multi-platform previews: Preview apps across platforms with multi-browser web previews, Android emulators, and iOS simulators.
• Importing existing apps: Bring in existing applications directly from GitHub.
• Full-stack development: Build complete applications, from front-end to back-end, in a familiar coding interface.
