What is Metis by Amazon?

Metis is a browser-based AI assistant developed by Amazon’s AGI team. It runs on Amazon’s own Olympus model and answers text- and image-based questions in a conversational format.

Who created Metis by Amazon?

Metis comes from Amazon’s AGI team, headed by Rohit Prasad, Amazon’s lead scientist and senior vice president. Vishal Sharma, vice president of artificial general intelligence, directly oversees Project Metis. The project draws on resources from Amazon’s Alexa team and builds on an improved internal version of Alexa known as “Remarkable Alexa.”
