How to Install Xence

Setup involves two apps from Atlassian’s Marketplace:

1. Install the Xence Helper app: Search Atlassian’s Marketplace for “Xence Helper by Gaspar AI” and click “Get it now” to install it on your Confluence instance. This app lets Xence read your Confluence articles.
2. Install the Xence app: Search for “Xence by Gaspar AI,” click “Try it free,” then “Start free trial” to install it on your JSM instance.
3. Log in: Use your existing account or sign up for a new one.
4. Choose your installation site: Select the JSM site where you want the app. Note that Xence can only read from one site’s knowledge base at a time.
5. Verify installation: Confirm both apps appear correctly in the “Manage apps” panel.
6. Share the portal link: Find the portal link on the Portal settings page and share it with employees so they can start getting answers right away.

Once installed, employees can begin chatting with Xence immediately. Allow about 5 minutes for it to sync with your knowledge base before expecting fully up-to-date answers.
