What is Credal?

Credal is a data security platform for businesses bringing AI applications into their workflows. It enforces access policies automatically, redacts sensitive information before it leaves the organization, maintains detailed audit logs, and syncs permissions with sources like Google Drive and Confluence. Who created Credal?

Credal was founded by Ravin Thambapillani and Jack Fischer. Ravin, co-founder and CEO, built AI systems at Palantir and led teams at Google. Jack, co-founder and CTO, also comes from Palantir, with experience applying AI in air travel and healthcare.

What is Credal used for?

Credal enforces access policies and redacts or masks sensitive data — including PII and specific keywords — before it leaves the organization. It syncs permissions with data sources such as Google Docs, Sheets, Drive, and Confluence, logs data shared with AI providers, produces audit logs, and offers Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) for admins and users.

Developers get secure APIs, including direct replacements for common AI APIs, for building custom applications. Credal also provides a ChatGPT-style secure chat interface, a native Slackbot, connections to enterprise data sources, management of agreements with AI providers, and unlimited queries.
