Chippy is a free browser extension that puts ChatGPT on any page you’re viewing. It handles tasks like summarizing articles, running quick research, translating text, and answering questions without switching tabs. You get twenty free GPT-3.5 queries per day; to use GPT-4 or go beyond the daily limit, you supply your own OpenAI API key. Conversations and your API key are stored locally in your browser and can be deleted at any time. Chippy doesn’t track your browsing history, requires no account, and works with Google Chrome and other Chromium-based browsers. The team behind the extension prefers to remain anonymous.
