What Is Amazon Titan?

Amazon Titan is a specialized system Amazon uses internally for managing security information. It tracks data related to security events and incidents across Amazon’s infrastructure and is built to handle large volumes of security data efficiently and securely. Titan supports monitoring, analyzing, and responding to security issues, helping Amazon react quickly when threats or incidents appear.

Who’s Behind Amazon Titan?

Titan is part of AWS and was developed with financial firms in mind, specifically to help them meet regulatory requirements. It came about under Andy Jassy, formerly CEO of Amazon Web Services (AWS), who played a large part in building AWS into a leading cloud computing provider before taking over as CEO of Amazon. Amazon itself was founded in 1994 by Jeff Bezos and grew from a bookstore into one of the largest tech and e-commerce companies in the world.

Getting Started with Titan

Titan runs through AWS. Setup involves creating an AWS account, locating Titan in the AWS Management Console, launching an instance, and choosing an instance type. You then configure networking, storage, and security settings and connect to the instance, for example via SSH.

Once running, Titan can be used for graph database tasks such as adding data, running queries, and making changes. AWS provides monitoring tools for tracking performance, and you should terminate the instance when finished to avoid unexpected charges.
