Thisponydoesnotexist is a website displaying pony portraits generated by a StyleGAN 2 neural network. Visitors see a scrolling grid of cartoon-style pony faces that don’t exist in real life — each image is generated randomly and is unique. JavaScript must be enabled in your browser to view the images.

Who created Thisponydoesnotexist?

The site was built by arfa, who trained the model on a collection of SFW pony images sourced from Derpibooru using nVidia’s StyleGAN2 architecture. After initial training, the model was fine-tuned for another 13 days on a TPUv3-32 pod, and the resolution was scaled up to 1024x1024. The project also benefited from input from Gwern and Shawn Presser, along with support from the Tensorfork community.

How to use Thisponydoesnotexist?

Visit the website with JavaScript enabled and browse the scrolling grid of generated ponies. Controls include:

• 0–9: change the scroll speed
• Spacebar: pause or resume scrolling
• z: zoom in on an image when hovering over it
• f: full-screen view
• Drag: pan around the grid

Clicking a pony opens it in a new window for a closer look. Scroll speed and image size can also be adjusted in the script’s settings.
