Synthesis

What is Synthesis?

Synthesis is an AI-powered educational tool that works as a personalized math tutor for children. Its curriculum was developed by mathematician Dr. James Tanton and covers a broad range of topics — from basic arithmetic, fractions, and decimals to algebraic expressions, geometry, and more advanced concepts like calculus and trigonometry.

The goal of Synthesis Tutor is to make math enjoyable and intriguing for kids by encouraging active participation and sparking genuine interest in the subject. The platform is user-friendly and places a strong focus on privacy, including compliance with COPPA.

Who created Synthesis?

Synthesis was co-founded by Josh Dahn. Its learning approach is based on an experimental school started with Elon Musk at SpaceX. The core mission is to give children an engaging, personalized way to learn math while nurturing their enthusiasm for it.

Who is Synthesis for?

The platform is aimed at educators, tutors, homeschooling parents, special education teachers, curriculum developers, and others involved in children’s math education.

Getting started

You can try the demo on the Synthesis Tutor website without creating any login details, making it easy to see how the platform works before subscribing. Once learning begins, the AI adapts to each child’s pace and style, offering a patient and engaging teaching approach through an intuitive interface.

Subscription plans and what’s next

Synthesis offers several subscription options: one-year access, lifetime access to the math content, or lifetime access to all subjects. The team plans to expand into subjects like physics, chemistry, and engineering, aiming for a complete STEM learning experience.
