Sudowrite

What is Sudowrite?

Sudowrite is an AI-powered writing assistant designed to help writers create content more efficiently. It offers personalized writing suggestions, grammar and vocabulary refinement, creative idea generation, and help organizing your thoughts so your writing flows smoothly. The goal is to enhance your own creative process rather than churn out words for you.

Sudowrite uses advanced AI models, including GPT-3.5 and GPT-4, which were trained on large text datasets such as CommonCrawl, Webtext, books, and Wikipedia. Importantly, Sudowrite positions itself as a tool to assist writers, not replace them. It aims to speed up the writing process and make it less lonely, while being clear about originality: it won’t plagiarize unless you actively try to force it, which violates their terms anyway.

Who created Sudowrite?

Sudowrite was built by writers Amit Gupta and James Yu, whose mission centers on the power of storytelling. The company has backing from notable investors, including the founders of Twitter and Medium, as well as others from the entertainment world.
