What is Sloyd?

Sloyd is a web app and SDK that simplifies 3D modeling. It generates 3D models in real time using AI-powered generators and works for both professional designers and beginners. Its key strengths are an easy-to-use interface, instant feedback as you generate models, and availability through both a web app and an SDK.

The AI-powered generation gives access to a large library of customizable 3D models. Models can be tweaked to fit different styles, from realistic to artistic, without requiring years of modeling experience. Sloyd also handles automatic UV-unwrapping, automatic LODs (levels of detail), and offers various export options, which streamlines texturing and animation.

The Text to 3D Model AI Generator turns a written description into a detailed 3D model, covering categories like buildings, props, weapons, and vehicles. The generators are based on common object types and produce game-ready assets, with a wide range of variations for each type. You can also generate variations using adjustable sliders or a randomizer, and the parametric library provides reusable 3D model parts for efficient model building.

Who created Sloyd?

Sloyd was founded by Øyvind Sørøy, co-founder and CTO, who has a background in game design, programming, and 3D modeling from the gaming industry, including work on franchises like FIFA and The Sims before moving into indie game development. He later teamed up with Avi Latner, who focuses on machine learning and product management, and Andreas Edesberg, a gamer and management consultant. The three shared a passion for creative technology and founded Sloyd to rethink 3D creation.
