What is Natural Language Playlist?

Natural Language Playlist is a project by Abelardo Riojas, a 23-year-old Data Science graduate student and music enthusiast. He built it out of a passion for discovering new music and exploring how language, music, and culture connect. The tool uses a dataset of song information to build playlists that capture the musical and cultural vibe of each track.

It applies natural language processing to analyze lyrics, tempo, genre, and other musical details, then generates personalized playlists matched to your emotions and the atmosphere you’re after. You get access to a large library of popular songs across genres, plus suggestions for up-and-coming artists and lesser-known tracks that fit your taste. The interface lets you search for songs, build custom playlists, and share music with friends.

Who Created It?

Abelardo Riojas spent much of his youth discussing songs and exploring the music scene. Natural Language Playlist is his vision of the ideal playlist: one curated with an understanding of each song’s musical and cultural background.
