What is Dadabots?

Dadabots is a machine learning project that uses neural networks to generate music across a range of styles, from death metal and free jazz to mathcore saxophone jazz. The networks learn from different bands’ recordings, producing AI-generated sound shaped by many influences.

A distinctive capability is imitation: Dadabots can model popular acts such as Nirvana or John Coltrane, creating music “deep fakes” that closely resemble the originals, along with raw “grinding-up-bands” audio. Beyond generation, the project automates music creation and streams the results 24/7, writes code, and publishes scientific papers — a reflection of its focus on education in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and music generation.
