Chord AI is a music companion app developed by Nomad AI and Bellec Research. It uses deep learning algorithms to identify the chords of any song, whether the audio comes from YouTube, SoundCloud, a local file, or is played live through your device’s microphone. The app is available for free on both the Apple Store and the Google Play Store.

Beyond chord recognition, Chord AI tracks beats and downbeats to determine a song’s tempo and break it into bars, identifies the song’s key, and includes a chord dictionary with diagrams for guitar, piano, and ukulele. It can also separate audio into individual instrument stems, convert audio to MIDI using research from Spotify, and transcribe lyrics and speech with OpenAI’s Whisper model.
